Yee-Haw! Children’s Hospital Trail Ride is Back

Children’s Hospital Trail Ride (CHTR) has been having fun and raising funds for patients and families at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio for the last 35 years. Each year, local families and volunteers gather for four rodeo themed events: team roping, BBQ cook-off, trail ride, and a benefit dance.

Join us this Saturday, March 11 for the BBQ cook-off at Kosciusko Community Hall! Participants will give their best shot at winning a cash prize by cooking up some brisket chili, chicken, and pork spare ribs and beans! The CHTR BBQ cook off is now recognized as a state championship by IBCA (International Barbeque Cookers Association). The winner will be eligible to participate at the Jack Daniels Cook-Off in Tennessee next year.

On March 25, join us for the annual trail ride and benefit dance at Kosciusko Community Hall. Attendees will enjoy great food, auction items, hayrides, and dancing. Registration for the event includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and admission to the evening concert.

CHTR will also present The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation with a check for $106,000 raised through their 2022 events! These funds will help support vital programs, equipment, research, and so much more.

Thank you to our friends at CHTR for all of their hard work and incredible generosity! Your support helps kids in our community heal and get back on the saddle. We can’t wait to get out there and have some fun! If you would like to get involved, while making a difference for local hospitalized children, please contact Rolando Gonzalez at Rolando.Gonzalez@christushealth.org for event details.
