Jardin de los Tres Niños Unveiled!

On Tuesday, December 15, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio was proud to unveil the long anticipated Jardin de los Tres Niños. Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller was present alongside hospital leadership and board members to bless the grounds and offer his kind words of hope for the future.

The gardens were made possible by a generous gift from Goldsbury Foundation. In 2013, Goldsbury Foundation made a $20 million gift to The Children’s Hospital to upgrade construction to include a breathtaking two-story lobby and entryway, to enhance the aesthetics of the campus, and to develop the CHEF (Culinary Health Education for Families) program.

Goldsbury Foundation has a long history with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa. Previous grants helped open the David Christopher Goldsbury Center for Children and Families, a multi-specialty outpatient clinic, as well as the Center for Miracles, a nationally renowned child abuse assessment program that has treated children from 30 South Texas counties. The foundation and the hospital also collaborated to provide medical, surgical, and rehabilitative care to handicapped children in Northern Mexico.

The Jardin de los Tres Niños will provide a healthy atmosphere for peace, prayer, serenity, and experiencing the restoring aspects of nature. A place for both mental and physical therapy, the landscape integrates a play garden, a bird and butterfly garden, and a prayer garden.

Thank you to Goldsbury Foundation for your incredible gift to our patients and their families. As we begin a new year, we look forward to  joy and hope that will be found within these gardens.
