Letters of Gratitude

In 2016, serious respiratory failure caused Father Jack O’Donoghue to spend several days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa-Medical Center (CSRH-MC) before eventually entering hospice and passing away.

Father O’Donoghue served as pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church and School in San Antonio for more than 25 years. He has left a legacy of prayer, perseverance, and trust in the hearts of those who knew him.

After his passing, students from Blessed Sacrament School wrote letters of appreciation to the nursing staff who took care of Father O’Donoghue during his last days, referring to the nurses as “angels who helped another angel transition into heaven.”

“Our teams of nurses truly live out the mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ in their everyday lives,” said Miguel Mendez, director of critical care, CSRH-MC. “They provide every patient with the highest quality care and strive to create an environment of peace and comfort.”

Your gift supports our nurses by providing vital resources for patient care, allowing them to extend the healing ministry to every patient, regardless of their age, illness, or ability to pay.
