You’re Invited to the 12th Annual National Speakers Luncheon!

The Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation is honored to award Mr. Harvey E. Najim with the Beacon Award for his outstanding service to the community and generous philanthropic support at the 12th Annual National Speakers Luncheon on Tuesday, October 24.  Najim is the chairman of the Harvey E. Najim Charitable Foundation and the Chairman Emeritius of Sirius Computer Solutions, Inc. The Harvey E. Najim Charitable Foundation was established in 2006 to help children’s charitable organizations in the greater San Antonio Area. Najim has donated a total of $125 million to the Foundation since its inception, which supports various public charities that provide children with food and shelter, clothing, education, medical treatment, and other children’s charitable purposes.

Ricardo Chavira, actor and breast cancer advocate, will serve as our speaker for the luncheon.  A native of South Texas, Chavira was born in Austin and raised in San Antonio. He became involved in acting his senior year at the North East School of the Arts, a magnet program of Legacy of Educational Excellence High School, as a way to be more active, but it opened up a new world for him. It was acting that helped Chavira cope with the death of his mother from breast and ovarian cancer when she was only 43, and he was 15. Chavira continues to be an advocate for breast cancer awareness and is committed to using his voice after witnessing his mother’s six-year struggle.
