When three-year-old Rose started to experience pain amongst other digestive issues, her mother Rose immediately took action by taking her to her local pediatrician. Rose was referred to specialists at CHRISTUS Children’s where she was diagnosed with an extremely rare perianal rhabdomyosarcoma, a malignant tumor formed in muscle tissue. Although there are approximately 450 rhabdomyosarcoma diagnoses each year, the location of Rose’s cancer was unusual and rare. A team of physicians, nurses, Child Life specialists, and associates throughout the hospital worked together to provide the best comprehensive care for Rose’s treatment plan. She went home after surgery with a few small stitches and an implanted port for future chemotherapy treatments. After several months of chemo, Rose was declared free of cancer and is currently still in remission.

Today, Rose is a spunky nine-year-old who loves to read, dance, and just be a kid. Thanks to dedicated donors like you, Rose is on her way to fulfilling all of her dreams.
