Celebrating 25 Years of the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation

Established in 1997, the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation (Friends Foundation) was formed to financially support CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and the patients we are honored to serve. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation supports innovative health care and medical services for the uninsured and the underinsured at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospitals (CSRH) in the South Texas Medical Center, Alamo Heights, Westover Hills, and New Braunfels. This means that all patients who enter our doors have the opportunity to experience unmatched care from the very best physicians and medical staff, regardless of their ability to pay.

The Friends Foundation exists because of donors, like you. For the past 25 years, the Foundation has supported multiple community programs, provided funds for vital research, and laid the groundwork for innovative care right here in San Antonio, New Braunfels, and surrounding communities.

Over the years, our donors and community partners have continued to give in a such a way that has allowed the Foundation to help create miracles all around us. Recently, the Friends Foundation’s 2022 National Speakers Luncheon raised more than $430,345 to support our ministries and provide mammograms to women throughout Bexar and Comal counties. Also in 2022, CSRH – Westover Hills unveiled a new, state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit and opened the doors to their brand-new emergency room, while CSRH – New Braunfels gained essential funding for its birthing center, cardiac program and its Every Baby Matters Mission. In late 2020, CSRH – Medical Center opened a dedicated oncology unit to provide both inpatient and outpatient services for patients at various stages in their cancer journey.

We are beyond grateful to serve alongside donors who support our mission and community members whole-heartedly. As we look to the future, we will continue to answer the call. Just as our founding Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word aided the sick in 1869, we will carry on their work, providing the best care available to anyone who may need it.
