Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: Celebrating Our Little Fighters

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the perfect time to honor the countless children who are currently fighting or have previously fought cancer. Every day, there are nearly 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. Children across our community and South Texas need your help to get better. As a non-profit children’s hospital, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio relies on the support of our community to continue providing the highest quality of care to our young cancer patients and their families. Your generosity has the power to last lifetimes!

We are amazed time and time again by the strength and courage we see in our patients every day. We admire our physicians, nurses, Child Life specialists, and cancer teams at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio who help our patients fight every day. We are grateful for our donors and supporters who believe in our mission and contribute to helping create a better future for our children and their families – little fighters like Nolan.

Nolan was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a cancer of the retina, in January 2019. His left eye was surgically removed, then he underwent chemotherapy, and completed treatment in January 2020. Today, Nolan is a spunky six-year-old who loves superheroes, hanging out with his little brother, and playing t-ball. We enjoy watching him grow and thrive!

Thank you for giving the gift of growing up through your generosity. Your support means everything to us, but even more to our kids. Consider making a gift today in honor of our past, present, and future little fighters at childrenshospitalsafoundation.org/donate.
