On Monday, September 5, people around the world will come together for one common purpose: to remind us that simple acts of charity and kindness can change the world. Join us in celebrating International Day of Charity 2022!

Originally an initiative to commemorate Mother Teresa’s death, International Day of Charity took off worldwide when it was declared an international holiday in 2012. In addition to honoring Mother Teresa’s tireless work to help others overcome poverty and suffering, the holiday provides a platform for other charitable opportunities to take place. This holiday weekend, we hope you consider making a gift to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation and/or the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation. Together, we can do so much!

We also have lots of events and fundraisers happening throughout the community. You can make a difference while you’re out and about or running errands.

All donations stay local to fund critical treatments and health care services, medical equipment, charitable care, and more. If you can’t make a financial donation on September 5, there are still many ways to get involved and make a difference. Overall, this day reminds us that simple acts of kindness can create more inclusive, resilient, happy societies. How will you choose to celebrate this special day?
