Our Associates Give Back – The 1869 Society

In 1869, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa was founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and has been leading the charge to provide the best health care to anyone who may need help, ever since. Through the establishment of the 1869 Society, our Associates have the opportunity to give back to their respective hospitals through monthly or one-time monetary gifts.

At CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, philanthropy is very much a part of our culture and ministry. Each hospital we serve is greatly impacted by philanthropic efforts. The funds raised through the 1869 Society benefit innovative programs, services, equipment, and more, at  CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospitals (CSRH) – Medical Center, Alamo Heights, New Braunfels, San Marcos, Westover Hills, and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

Through the efforts of hospital champions throughout CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, Associates are encouraged to engage their peers to contribute to the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation or The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation through the 1869 Society.

From funding AccuVein Visualizer devices at CSRH-New Braunfels, to supporting the purchase of new x-ray systems at CSRH-San Marcos, and even contributing to the funding of COVID-19 efforts at The Children’s Hospital, Associates have played a major role in making CHRISTUS Santa Rosa hospitals what they are today.

From March 22 through April 30, 2021, over 330 Associates, alongside the Philanthropy Council, raised over $168,125, which was gifted back to the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation or The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation to impact our hospitals. This year, the 1869 Society hopes to raise $180,000 to support our ministries. Our Associates have many reasons for giving back. The main reason being, they believe in the work they as well as their fellow Associates, are doing for our community.
