A Symbol of Hope

Earlier this year, we said goodbye to our dear friend and long-time donor, Jana M. Bounds, co-founder of Hope Hits Harder Cancer Foundation. Throughout Jana’s life, she was an advocate and strong supporter of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation. She was unstoppable in her fight for children, even as she fought cancer herself.

This past Tuesday, we were proud to debut and bless the Jana M. Bounds Hope Bridge at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. This bridge will stand as a symbol of hope for anyone who walks through our doors or drives by. Tommy “T-Bone” Bounds and Jacqueline Bounds Kolski, Jana’s husband and daughter, were with us as Sister Michele O’Brien blessed the bridge through prayer while attendees blew bubbles.

The dedication was made possible thanks to many donors who joined together to make a multi-million-dollar gift to honor Jana and impact our cancer program at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. Thank you to everyone who came together to honor Jana. She was an incredible warrior, philanthropist, wife, mother, and friend. We will always be reminded of the hope she gave to countless families.
