Making a difference for those who need it most can be simple. It only takes a few words to leave a gift in an estate plan or will that can change lives for years to come. With a planned gift, you can ensure your life’s work is carried on to impact others. Legacy planning is one of the most effective ways to retain control of your wealth during your lifetime, strengthen charities that best reflect your values, limit potential federal estate taxes, and secure your families well-being. Consider making a planned gift to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and/or the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation.
Because of our incredible donors, both foundations are able to support patients at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and all of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital campuses – in the South Texas Medical Center, Westover Hills, Alamo Heights, San Marcos, and in New Braunfels.

Common Types Of Legacy Gifts
Charitable Bequest
A charitable bequest is a gift through your will or living trust. The process is straightforward and revocable, should your circumstances or intentions change. To dedicate a bequest to the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation or The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation, please share the following sample language with your attorney:
- I give to Friends of Santa Rosa Foundation, dba Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation, [specific dollar amount] for its unrestricted use and purpose.
- I give to Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital Foundation, dba The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation, [specific dollar amount] for its unrestricted use and purpose.
Beneficiary Designation
You can also name the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation or The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation as the beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy, a choice that may bring considerable tax benefits. The process is often as simple as completing a form from your plan administrator or policy underwriter. Like the charitable bequest, this decision can be revoked during your lifetime.
Making a planned gift will ensure your life’s work continues to make a difference in the lives of so many, long after you are gone, and the funds stay right here in our community.
