9th Annual National Speakers Luncheon Honoring Barbara B. Gentry

The Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation is honored to award Mrs. Barbara B. Gentry with the Beacon Award for her outstanding service to the community and generous philanthropic support at the 9th Annual National Speakers Luncheon on Wednesday, October 2.  Barbara currently serves on the boards of directors of the Army Residence Community, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation, Fisher House Foundation, Haven for Hope, and The Najim Family Foundation.  She is also a lifetime member of the UT Health San Antonio Development Board, and serves on the Advisory Board for Special Reach and Tuesday’s Children.  She retired from USAA in 2012 as the vice president of community affairs, and was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame in 2016.

Join us as we honor Barbara B. Gentry!

Father Gregory Boyle, S. J. will serve as our speaker for the luncheon. After witnessing first-hand the devastating impact of gang violence in his community, Father Boyle founded Homeboy Industries, the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program in the world. Father Boyle is the author of the 2010 New York Times-bestseller Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion.  In 2014, the White House named Father Boyle a Champion of Change.

The Friends team, (Sister Michele O’Brien, Kathryn Conner & Allison Salinas) have been hard at work tallying up sponsorships.

Table sponsors, underwriters, and Mobile Mammography donations for the National Speakers Luncheon are still available and being accepted! We are 60 percent of the way to accomplishing our goal, but we still need your help!
