Jubilee Noa Sanchez was born at 25 weeks, weighing only 2 lbs, 4 oz.
She endured brain bleeds, heart surgery and a bowel perforation, which required two additional surgeries. Jubilee was in the NICU at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio for 115 days in 2013.
For her 5th birthday this year, her parents explained how grateful they were for the amazing care provided by The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, which got them through the most challenging time of their lives. They reminded Jubilee that she had all the toys and clothes she needed, and it would be very nice to give to other children in need. She agreed. So for her birthday, she asked her friends to contribute a $10 donation instead of a gift so that she could use the money to donate items the hospital needed.
Jubilee loved her sound box throughout her time in the NICU, so it was exciting to be able to provide the tiny peanuts going through their journey at The Children’s Hospital with a sound box to help them as well. She even took one to her Show & Tell at school to tell her friends what she was doing with the donations they contributed.
Jubilee is a miracle, like many of the babies in the NICU, and she was blessed with a very big, loving heart.
It is because of your generous donations that Jubilee is able to share her story with the world.
