If you’ve walked through the halls of the first floor in The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, you may have seen the smiling face of William “Willie” Fontelroy. This year, Willie will celebrate 43 years with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa on the environmental services team as a housekeeping technician. Willie is a valued CHRISTUS Associate who stands out because of his dedication and his genuine love for his job.
“I enjoy getting up every morning and coming here. It’s like my second home,” Willie said. “I try to stay positive and happy and make a difference for our patients. After all these years, I still feel good about being here. I truly love this Hospital.”
Willie has dedicated most of his life to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System. He is loved by many and has become a memorable face at The Children’s Hospital.
“I’ve known some of our patients and their families for 10 or 15 years! It’s nice to get to know them and to see the kids grow up. It makes me happy that our patients remember me,” Willie added. “It’s exciting to see the hospital change, but the love I have for being here is the same as it was 43 years ago.”
The long history of caring that was first established by our founding Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1869 lives on in the dedication of Associates like Willie.
