Today we celebrated the homecoming of April Fricke, Incarnate Word High School (IWHS) Athletic Director, who completed a 3-day historic bike ride across Texas for a good cause. For the second consecutive year, April road her bike along the same route the first three Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word traveled from Freeport to San Antonio in 1869, approximately 250 miles. April accepted pledges per mile, as well as donations, to reach her $8,000 fundraising goal, which will be donated to the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation in support of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Mobile Mammography Unit.

Many IWHS students and faculty, Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, and Friends Foundation staff, gathered at Incarnate Word High School this morning, donned in pink, to cheer on April as she completed the final stretch of her ride.

April is still accepting pledges per mile as well as donations to reach her goal. To donate go to www.incarnatewordhs.org and designate Other: Sisters Trail.
