Coming up on its third year, the Harleys & Habits Motorcycle Ride Charity event is just a couple months away – you won’t want to miss it! Join us for a day of bikers, sisters and fun to raise money and awareness in support of innovative programs, equipment and community outreach initiatives at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels (CSRH – NB).
Hosted by the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation and the CSRH-NB Development Council, the unique event will kick off with a parade of Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word riding on the backs of motorcycles, followed by a 100-mile non-stop ride through the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The event will wrap-up with a celebration lunch with live music at Gruene Harley-Davidson. This event benefits CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels.
“Harleys & Habits is getting bigger and better every year,” said Susan Granzin, Harleys & Habits co-chair and Friends Foundation board member. “Watching the Sisters riding on the backs of motorcycles and in sidecars is a sight to see. It’s even more wonderful and uplifting to see the community come together to support such a great cause.”
The 2015 Harleys & Habits Motorcycle Ride Charity Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 at 9:00 a.m. at Gruene Harley-Davidson. Online registration is now open at FriendsFoundation.org and we are currently in need of sponsors. For more information, call 210.704.2800 or email us at FriendsFoundation@ChristusHealth.org.
“Harleys & Habits is very important for CSRH-NB. It’s quite a delight to see how enthusiastic the riders are to support the hospital,” added Sister Germaine Corbin. “It’s just so much fun. It’s such a different way to fundraise and I think it surprises people to see nuns riding motorcycles. As for me, I was given strict orders from my family to never ride a motorcycle, but my vows are to the congregation and I can’t wait to participate again!”
